My New Coin Collection

So I've recently started a coin collection like many people in the Navy. I've only got a few right now. The top coin is from Submarinestore.com while the bottom 2 are from Northwest Territorial Mint. These aren't actual pictures of my coins, but rather pictures from the respective sites. The 2 I have from Northwest Territorial Mint are engravable on the back and I had the dates that I graduated MM 'A' School and made 2nd class engraved on the backs of those.

Great series by H. Jay Riker

Here's the latest in another series of submarine books. This one I borrowed from my new LPO this last underway. In this series the author explores the life of different class submarines. This particular book he sends us on an adventure aboord the newly converted SSGN, the USS Ohio. So I went to the bookstore and bought this and another in his series. I'm looking forward to reading it perhaps this next underway if I finish my current book. So check out his outher books in the series Grayback Class, Los Angelos Class, Seawolf Class, and Virginia Class for more submarine adventures.

Great series by Joe Buff

Recently I've been spending a lot of my off-watch time reading books. Which inspired me for a new post. (I know it's been a while, but hey, I've been at sea.) A year or two ago I picked up a book called Tidal Rip. It was about what is basically World War III and submarines are play a big part. As it turns out Tidal Rip was part of a series of books by Joe Buff. The series details the adventure of Captain Jeffery Fuller and his ship the USS Challenger. His ship is unlike any other out there. The best thing is each book can be read by itself and you won't be completely lost. So check out his other books Thunder in the Deep, Deep Sound Channel, Crush Depth, Tidal Rip, Straight's of Power, and Seas of Crisis to continue the adventures of Jeffery Fuller.
